UFC 293 Main Card, Predictions
The Adesanya vs. Strickland fight headlines the UFC 293 main card and all signs point to Izzy defending his middleweight title. The Nigerian champ brings a 24-2 MMA record to the octagon and is coming off a big win over Alex Pereira at UFC 287 in April.
Strickland (a.k.a. “Tarzan”) boasts a 27-5 record, and while he’s been displaying some incredible prowess as of late, oddsmakers still have Adesanya as the overwhelming favorite. This is Strickland’s first numbered UFC appearance since losing to Pereira at UFC 276 last July.
The other big fight tonight pits Alexander Volkov vs. Tai Tuivasa in a heavyweight bout. Volkov is the UFC’s eighth-ranked heavyweight, and one of the most exciting fighters to watch.
The rest of the main card features Manel Kape vs. Felipe dos Santos in a flyweight bout; Justin Tafa vs. Austen Lane in another heavyweight matchup; and Tyson Pedro vs. Anton Turkalj in a light heavyweight fight.
